The Story Behind the Boardies

Inspired by our family trip to Costa Rica and years of surf trips that made us fall in love with the Pura Vida lifestyle, our Costa Rica Retro Boardies are built for kids who don’t slow down — from beach mornings to boat days, cannonballs, wipeouts, and chasing sunsets barefoot.

These aren’t your average kids swim trunks.

Made with true retro boardshort construction, they feature a velcro waistband, stretch front panel, and front tie closure for a secure fit that actually stays put through waves, wipeouts, and nonstop summer chaos.

Built-in waist adjusters let you dial in the fit, so they stay comfy, secure, and still have that laid-back boardie look.

Finished with our custom Costa Rica-inspired side panel, signature neon orange contrast trim, and 3 custom silicone patches, every detail was designed to feel like collectible surf gear — the kind of boardies that get worn hard, handed down, and remembered years later.

The same way people still hold onto their vintage Rip Curl and Billabong boardies — these were built to become those shorts.

Orders typically ship within 3–5 business days.

We’re a small, mama-owned brand and pack everything ourselves out of our garage, so we move as quickly as possible while making sure each order is packed with care.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking by email. Delivery time depends on the carrier and your location.

Please note: if your order includes a pre-order item, everything will ship together once the pre-order item arrives.

We have a 14-day return policy.

If something doesn’t work out, we’re happy to help with a return for store credit within 14 days of delivery. We’re a small mama-owned shop, so returns are refunded in the form of store credit rather than back to the original payment method.

Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in their original condition.

Please note: all sale items, holiday items, and swimwear are final sale.

Once an order is placed, we start working on it as quickly as possible.

If you need to make a change, please email us right away and we’ll do our best to help. That said, changes are not guaranteed — especially during holiday launches, sitewide sales, and pre-order periods when orders move fast and volume is higher.

Once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled.

If you accidentally placed a duplicate order, please contact us as soon as possible. We’re happy to help resolve duplicate orders and, when applicable, refund the duplicate payment back to the original payment method.

Holiday and pre-order items may be returned for store credit or exchanged within 14 days of delivery. To qualify, your request must be submitted and the approved item placed back in the mail within that same 14-day period.

All holiday return and exchange requests must be submitted no later than December 4, 2026. After December 4, all holiday items are final sale.

All swimwear and sale items are final sale and are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

Items must be unworn, unwashed, free of odors, and returned with their original tags and packaging. Customers are responsible for return shipping, and original shipping charges are nonrefundable.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items are handled separately. Please contact us promptly with your order number and photos so we can make it right.

Pre-order items ship once they arrive to us. If your order includes both in-stock and pre-order items, your full order will ship together. If you need an in-stock item sooner, please place it as a separate order.

Most of our drops are small-batch and may not restock. If you see your size, we recommend grabbing it while it’s available.

Each product has its own size chart when available. If you’re between sizes or unsure what to order, please reach out before purchasing — we’re happy to help you find the best fit.
